Discovery Camp at The North Carolina Arboretum

Thank you for your interest in Discovery Camps at our beautiful 434-acre campus! Our summer programs are set to run from June 10 through August 28 on weekdays between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
Our Summer Camp Options:

Little Mountneers for students entering kindergarten or first grade
-
Wet and Wild focusing on water exploration for kindergarteners and first graders
-
Fur, Feathers, and Scales to delve into animal characteristics and habitats for young learners
-
Arboretum Adventures, providing fun with nature for kindergartners and first graders
-
Buggin' Out dedicated to bug identification and activities for the same age group
-
For students entering second grade or third grade:
-
Eco Detectives, uncovering environmental mysteries
-
Aquatic Adventures exploring life in water ecosystems
-
Junior Mountneers, introducing climbing basics
-
Active Adventurers with outdoor physical activities for second and third graders

For fourth and fifth graders, we offer:

Wilderness Explorers, diving deep into wild habitats
-
Walk on the Wild Side, focusing on conservation efforts
-
Wild Encounters, hands-on experiences with various wildlife
-
Nature's Superheroes, learning about eco-protection through play

Sixth to eighth graders have options like:

ecoQUEST for environmental problem-solving challenges

Outdoor Artists, combining nature with art expression

STEAMed for Science integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in nature study

Wildlife Trek exploring the diverse fauna of our region

Eco Trek, focusing on ecology and sustnability

For advanced mountn sports enthusiasts:
- Advanced Mountn Sports offering specialized skills trning
Cancellation Policy:
-
If cancellation occurs more than 30 days prior to the camp start date, a full refund is provided.
-
Cancellations between 30 and 11 days before the program starts result in a half-refund.
-
No refunds are given within 10 days of the start date unless it's due to a COVID-19-related reason. In this case, please contact Jonathan Marchal at [email protected].
